TITLE: Sr. Manager, Supply Chain & Logistics

LOCATION: Kirkland, WA - Onsite

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Direct Hire

PAY RANGE: 140-170K base plus benefits

Our medical device industry client is seeking a Sr. Manager, Supply Chain & Logistics who will oversee the full supply chain from supplier through customer delivery, ensuring consistent product availability for both commercial and clinical needs. This is a hands-on people management role, overseeing 2 direct reports.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for the direction, planning and execution of the company’s supply chain management operations. This position ensures that supplier management, inventory management, production planning, purchasing, and product distribution meet the applicable worldwide regulatory requirements for the manufacture and distribution of medical devices.

RESPONISBILITIES:

  • Manage the company’s supply chain from supplier to customer, including production planning, materials management, purchasing, and finished product distribution activities to ensure a consistent supply of product to meet sales and clinical study demand.
  • Ensure supply chain capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness as the company grows.
  • Develop and nurture supplier relationships to build and maintain solid partnerships with all critical suppliers.
  • Coordinate and schedule timelines for product delivery to the company’s contract warehouses.
  • Manage commercial and clinical study product distribution and communications with OUS contract warehouses and distributors.
  • Manage clinical study product distribution from U.S. warehouse to clinical sites.
  • Manage ERP/MRP system for planning, data entry, inventory, purchasing, and intercompany transfer functions.
  • Manage/improve sourcing contingency plans, including supplier contracts and second sourcing.
  • Work closely with the Director of Manufacturing to ensure products are produced and distributed according to plan.
  • Work closely with the QA management to ensure product quality is maintained.
  • Work closely with the RA management to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Work closely with the Finance department to ensure order costing and general ledger transactions are correct and timely, including month-end closing and year-end fiscal inventory.
  • Work closely with the Director of R&D to ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials for development and product improvement projects.
  • Work closely with the OUS and US field teams on plans to support all company strategic initiatives, including the uninterrupted supply of product to support cases.
  • Work closely with the VP of Operations and Compliance on budgeting and budget execution with a focus on product costs and margins.
  • Support all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental activities to ensure a safe work environment and to maintain compliance with State and Federal workplace requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 10 years of business experience with five years of significant management responsibility.
  • Experience in inventory management, purchasing, supplier management, and distribution.
  • Experience in supply chain management from planning through purchasing, and negotiation and administration of large dollar procurement agreements.
  • Large and small company experience, ideally in a startup environment with an entrepreneurial attitude and spirit.
  • International shipping experience highly preferred.
  • APICs certification a plus.
  • Advanced Excel expertise required.
  • Knowledge in successful deployment of commercial products with fast time-to-market and cost sensitivity requirements.
  • Knowledge of worldwide regulations (ISO and Quality System Regulation) for product realization, purchasing, and control of production process.
  • Knowledge in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge in supply chain management, contracts, negotiating, and change management.

EDUCATION:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is preferred and/or certifications.
