Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Metrix Company, a leading manufacturer of single-use medical devices, is seeking a results-driven Production Planner to join our team in a newly created position. The person in this position will lead the production planning and scheduling function across two locations, ensuring timely production aligned with customer demand. The Production Planner will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, engineering, and procurement to balance resources, maintain inventory targets, and meet delivery expectations. Projects will directly impact customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, manage, and continuously improve the production planning system to optimize raw material and finished goods levels.

• Collaborate with Sales and Production to release and schedule orders that align with customer delivery dates.

• Monitor production workflows and address disruptions with minimal impact to lead time or output.

• Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Production to assess labor and equipment capacity, and recommend adjustments based on demand.

• Coordinate acknowledgement, scheduling, and shipment of customer orders, proactively communicating any delays or changes.

• Create and track KPIs (e.g., on-time production, schedule adherence) and provide regular reporting to support continuous improvement.

• Schedule engineering samples, quality validations (e.g., sterilization), and customer prototypes through the production process.

• Align closely with Quality Control, Warehouse, and Shipping to meet customer expectations and quality standards.

• Identify opportunities for productivity gains and capacity expansion.

• Participate in the company’s quality system and maintain documentation in compliance with standard operating procedures.

• Contribute to cross-functional projects or process improvement initiatives as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.

• 2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain.

• Familiarity with material flow from raw goods to finished product.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in cross-departmental coordination or project management.

• Proficiency in MRP / ERP systems (preferably Acumatica or equivalent).

• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Ability to lead, influence, and follow through in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to work on-site with occasional travel.
