Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Designer located in Houston, TX. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for creating technical drawings, designing machines, working on mechanical engineering projects, and utilizing CAD software. In addition, the role includes researching and developing new product designs, ensuring they meet specified requirements, and collaborating with other team members to optimize product
Essential Job Functions:
· Design and develop electrical equipment structures.
· Read and interpret mechanical drawings (three-lines, schematics, etc…).
· Basic drafting/AutoCAD skills.
· Able to read and interpret mechanical symbols, characters, and drawings.
· Ability to learn policies, procedures, Safety Rules, and Regulations.
· Perform related duties as assigned.
· Must be familiar with and understand NEC Codes.
· Able to communicate comfortably with engineers, project managers, salespeople, and production personnel.
· Update drawings per engineering and/or customer markups.
· Ability to be trained and receive UL certifications.
· Must be able to communicate required re-work/repairs to production.
· Must be able to troubleshoot.
· Must follow all SEC safety Policies.
· Must possess attention to detail.
· Must participate in all company safety and quality meetings.
· Must be able to work overtime as needed.
· Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics.
· Must be able to review and revise as built drawings.
· Must analyze all FAT errors.
· You are required to collaboratively take on varied duties as assigned by supervisors, often wearing multiple hats to support our collective success.
Qualifications:
· High School Graduate or GED. Some college education preferred but not required.
· Minimum 0-3 years of experience in an mechanical designer role or manufacturing experience.
