Job Description

The Syracuse Office of a well-known regional law firm is looking for a Senior Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant. The Syracuse Office is the firm's largest office with the largest litigation presence. The Legal Assistant will work directly for the Managing Partner and be an integral part of the busy team!

Job Descriptions/Key Duties:

• Heavy scheduling and calendaring for attorney meetings, court deadlines, and depositions.
• Provide support by drafting correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents.
• Prepare files and/or binders for hearings, depositions, meetings, and trials.
• Assist with client engagement and retention, including preparation of engagement letters, conflict checks, conflict waivers, and submitting information to open matters.
• Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision.
• Well versed in both federal and state court procedure and filing requirements, including e-filing in federal court

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Paralegal certification - a plus
• At least 3 years of exprience as a Litigation Legal Assistant or Litigation Paralegal
• Must have experience with filings at the state and federal level
• Must have experience with the litigation process - full cycle

Desired Skills and Experience

- Must have at least 3 years of experience as a litigation legal assistant or litigation paralegal
- commercial litigation experience is highly preferred; but litigation is required
- trial prep and e-filing experience required
