Job Description

IT Director oversees planning, implementation, security, and operation of an organization’s technology infrastructure and information systems to support efficiency, innovation, and quality public service.

•Key responsibilities•

Develop and execute long-term IT strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Establish IT policies, procedures, and standards.

Evaluate technology needs and recommend cost-effective solutions.

Manage network infrastructure, hardware, software, and technology projects.

Oversee vendor contracts, performance, and purchases.

Lead cybersecurity, data protection, and disaster recovery efforts.

Coordinate staff training and user support.

Report on IT performance and collaborate with leadership and stakeholders.

Participate in innovation and digital transformation initiatives.

•Ideal candidate qualifications•

Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, security, and public sector IT operations.

Experience in strategic planning, project management, and team leadership.

Familiarity with laws and regulations affecting municipal IT.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

•Preferred education and experience•

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
5–7 years in IT with at least 3 years in leadership.
Public sector or local government IT experience highly desirable.
