Job Description

Position Overview

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, including the movement, storage, and tracking of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods. This role ensures that inventory systems are accurate, materials are available to production when needed, and facilities remain organized, safe, and compliant with established standards. The position requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee warehouse equipment and fleet operations, ensuring proper maintenance, safe use, and cost-effective management.
  • Manage warehouse logistics, including scheduling, receiving, stock rotation, transfers between facilities, and ensuring all materials are properly barcoded and traceable.
  • Partner with production teams to align material availability with production schedules and proactively resolve issues that could disrupt workflow.
  • Lead accident investigations, documentation, and follow-up with insurance and maintenance providers.
  • Enforce inventory control policies and warehouse management system (WMS) procedures to maintain accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
  • Supervise, train, and recertify forklift operators; oversee performance, discipline, and development of warehouse staff.
  • Support cross-functional needs, including product returns, vendor complaints, and change management processes.
  • Ensure a safe, sanitary, and efficient work environment in line with operational standards and GMPs.
  • Drive efficiency by minimizing overtime and optimizing warehouse labor and equipment use.
  • Collaborate closely with departments such as Quality, Purchasing, and Accounting to support material dispositions and reporting needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced education or certifications a plus.
  • Ten or more years of experience in warehousing or distribution, with at least five years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control systems, and material handling processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel, and experience with scanning equipment and warehouse technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence change, and build accountability across departments.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
