Summary of Position:
Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) assists in identifying the needs of each resident and develops a personalized plan of action tailored to each individual's needs. The Peer Support Specialist monitors and evaluates the resident's progress in relation to the plan of action. The plans are multi-faceted. These plans include tangible goals such as vital documents, job search, and healthcare needs. The plans also include recovery goals, monitoring meeting attendance, and encouraging step work. The Peer Support Specialist also tracks pertinent resident information related to urine screens and counselor tracker reports, which are shared with supporting agencies spread across several counties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide person-centered peer support services to individuals with Substance Use Disorder
Docusign intake process with all new residents
Complete Needs Assessment for all new residents
Initiate random urines as needed
Complete room inspections as needed
Maintain electronic case files for program participants
Maintain databases related to the recovery house
Perform quarterly fire inspection and maintain database
Assess residents needs and provide assistance during their first 90 days
Communicate with community agencies and provide information about community resources to enhance support services for residents
Assist residents in developing a recovery plan
Assist residents with job search and resume-building
QUALIFICATIONS:
Maryland Certified Peer Support Specialist
2 or more years of uninterrupted clean time
Knowledge of all resources related to recovery in the tri-county area
Work involves the ability to flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends
Must have reliable transportation, as work involves traveling to the recovery residence.
